Glenway Farm | Dorchester

131 Glenway St, Boston

The Glenway Farm was developed by the City of Boston and City Growers in 2012-13 as part of a pilot project to explore the viability of commercial urban farming. The Urban Farming Institute has been farming the site since 2013.

Garrison-Trotter Farm | Roxbury

225-227 Harold Street, Boston

The Garrison-Trotter Farm was the first farm to be completed under Article 89, the zoning amendment passed by the City of Boston in 2013 that permits commercial urban farms. The site was developed by the Urban Farming Institute and the Trust for Public Land.

Tommy’s Rock Farm | Roxbury

1-3 Akron Street, Boston

The Tommy’s Rock Farm was designed by Regenerative Design Group and includes a greenhouse which was constructed by the Trust for Public Land in 2017. In 2021, it will become the first site made available directly to neighborhood farmers for commercial growing.

Astoria Farm | Mattapan

15 Flint Street, Boston

The Astoria Farm was designed by Regenerative Design Group and built in 2019. It was developed with support from the Community Preservation Act, the City of Boston, and YouthBuild Boston.

Lynstead MAJA Farm at Westville

100-106 Westville Street, Dorchester

Westville is the newest site to be developed into a neighborhood farm. The site is currently open space, with a history of growing food, and was donated to Boston Farms by the owner for use as an urban farm.
